Our youngest
scientists will find a day designed just for them (with no large school groups!) at this fall’s Preschool Party at the Science Museum of Minnesota.
Preschool Party at the Science Museum of Minnesota
Tomorrow! 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This special event on Wednesday, October 3 will draw on preschoolers’
innate sense of curiosity, providing them with the tools and materials to build, experiment, learn, and explore the science topics that interest them most. Add in guest presenters, live music and theater, and an environment free from the hustle and bustle that school field trips bring, and you’ve got a recipe for preschool science fun.
From noon to 3 p.m., young kids (and the people who love them) will go nose to nose with the Science Museum’s beloved dinosaurs. They’ll build
shapes and explore how they fit together. They’ll use body paint to explore human anatomy and identity. They’ll play with toy cars - and be encouraged to take them apart and put them back together again. They’ll look for designs in the night sky, learn more about the birds in their backyard, explore how plants turn into bread, create chemical reactions, explore the life cycle of a butterfly, dribble a soccer ball and take shots on goal, build towers from baskets and pirate ships that float, see
live theater performances and demonstrations, enjoy live music from The Jolly Pops, and much more.
The Science Museum’s mission is to help visitors of all ages and backgrounds see themselves in science. Events like Preschool Party put science in the hands of the youngest visitors, sparking a lifetime of science fun and learning.
Preschool Party festivities are included in regular exhibit gallery admission ($18.95 for adults, $12.95 for kids
4 to 12 and seniors, FREE for kids under 4). For advance tickets and tips to plan your visit, call (651) 221-9444 or visit www.smm.org.
