Fun for your family here in the Twin Cities!

Published: Thu, 04/05/18

Hey there, !

It's that time of year when kids are staring at the school year's finish line, and mamas and daddies are making plans for next year.

As a mama of four kids, I love exploring the different options available around the metro.

We are blessed to live in a very educational-friendly atmosphere in the Twin Cities with so many schooling choices including Public, Homeschool, Montessori, and Waldorf.

If you have never heard of Waldorf education, I think of it as simply an artistic and integrative approach to education. It uses a traditional curriculum with a very progressive approach integrating music and art.  With lots of outdoor recess and an rushed lunch time, it's a great fit for families looking for old school academics with a cutting edge approach.

Minnesota Waldorf School in St. Paul is having an Open House in the morning of Saturday, April 14, 2018.  I am enchanted by this philosophy and can see a few of my kids thriving in this holistic education method.

Little Free Libraries – 8 Fun Ideas to Try

2018-04-03 13:32:20-04

Anyone who is a fan of the concept of Little Free Libraries, also knows the downside of uncurated collections. Sometimes they are empty, sometimes they are full of library rejects, and sometimes they just have inappropriate materials in them (am I the only one to find a rotten banana?). Rather than give up, we have […]

Rock The Twin Cities: FFTC’s Guide to Family Friendly Entertainment

2018-04-03 22:07:32-04

We’re kind of lucky in the Twin Cities, we have some really great local kids bands. My oldest will always be able to claim that she saw the Okee Dokee Brothers play in a friend’s basement. ODB is not so local anymore, but the Twin Cities still doesn’t lack for family friendly entertainment. The following […]

Twin Cities Vacation Bible School Opportunities

2018-04-04 17:16:22-04

Vacation Bible School seems to be a little like scouts or sleep-away camps in that some parents did it when they were kids and consider it a childhood rite of passage. While others, like me, did not even know these camps existed until adulthood. I have very little experience with VBS, so this list is […]
