Please don't get overwhelmed with all the options.
Here is a way to make summer as successful as possible taken from my favorite author, Kendra Adachi of The Lazy Genius Way.
Decide Once what your summer priorities are. You could choose three: One for you, one for your kids, and one for your family as a whole.
Start Small in making your plans. Starting small could be that you plan one activity for this week. Whether it's in your home or outside your home. Starting small could be making sure you have a simple morning rhythm.
Set House Rules for the expectations of said plans. House rules are set expectations that as soon as you get it into both your noggin and your kids' noggins, there is no more thinking. It's just automatic. Ideas for house rules could be: whenever you are outside, you must wear shoes (I know this doesn't work for swimming activities, but just go with me). Or ice cream is eaten on the patio.
Or whenever you get home from an activity, it's automatically rest time (the time doesn't matter as much as the rhythm).
